CYCLING CLUBS
There are a number of cycling clubs located throughout Kentucky. These clubs typically offer opportunities for riders of all experience and interests (beginner to seasoned rider) to participate in organized group rides and activities such training and education. Below is a listing of known cycling clubs. To learn more click on the name of the club you are interested in. If you are aware of club that is not listed please let us know.
Bluegrass Cycling Club
The Bluegrass Cycling Club is a volunteer, not-for-profit organization. Our mission is to encourage bicycling for health, recreation, and transportation; to promote bicycle safety; to improve bicycling facilities; and to further all phases of bicycling.
Louisville Bicycle Club
The Louisville Bicycle Club serves the greater Louisville metropolitan area, including Southern Indiana. We are dedicated to promoting the sport of bicycling and advocating for the rights of all cyclists.
Cincinnati Cycling Club
Cincinnati Cycle Club promotes cycling as an active, healthy lifestyle by organizing and offering the largest selection of group rides, social activities and cycling support in the tri-state region.
Cumberland Valley Cycling Club (CVCC)
The Cumberland Valley Cycling Club (CVCC) was founded in 2011 for the purpose of promoting cycling in the Cumberland Valley region of Kentucky.
Ashland Cycling Enthusiasts
Ashland Cycling Enthusiasts is a bike club from Ashland, Kentucky established in 2003 to promote cycling of all levels. We have regularly scheduled rides as well as lots of impromptu rides. We welcome everyone to come join our club who has an interest in cycling, whether they are an experienced rider or just a beginner.
Central Kentucky Wheelman
Central Kentucky Wheelmen is a Hardin Co., KY cycling club which was established in 1980. We are strong advocates in promoting fun, safe cycling in our community and building long-lasting relationships.
Western Kentucky Cyclists
Cyclists of all types and skill levels living or visiting western Kentucky are encouraged to join the Western KY Cyclists group on Facebook for upcoming cycling events, rides, and discussions.
Kentucky Mountain Bike Association (KyMBA)
KyMBA’s mission is to create, enhance and preserve great trail experiences in Kentucky. They have three chapters: KyMBA Louisville, KyMBA Southeast, and KyMBA Bluegrass.

Kentucky Tourism: Bicycle Vacations
As the official promoter for visitors to our beautiful state, this organization assists us in expanding infrastructure and promoting outdoor activities. Some events and cycling routes include the Horsey Hundred, Kentucky Bourbon Trail, Kentucky Cycling Challenge, and Bourbon Country Burn.

A Trail Town is a destination along a long-distance trail or adjacent to an extensive trail system. Whether the trail is a hiking trail, water trail or rail trail, users can venture from the path to explore the unique scenery, commerce and heritage that each trail town has to offer. Four Great Urban and Rural Trails
Legacy Trail (Lexington)
The 12-mile Legacy Trail runs north-south through Lexington among green spaces, neighborhoods and parks.
Town Branch Trail (Lexington)
The Town Branch Trail and Town Branch Commons will connect downtown
Lexington with the Legacy Trail and the Bluegrass countryside.
Louisville Loop (Louisville)
The Louisville Loop is the 100-mile multi recreational non-motorized path planned to encircle the city and link neighborhoods to parks and civic attractions, creating transportation alternatives and recreation opportunities.
Dawkins Line Rail Trail (Salyersville)
The Dawkins Line Rail Trail, an 18 mile
one-way route, is a major attraction for walkers, cyclists and horseback riders from all over Kentucky and beyond.
GOVERNMENT RESOURCES

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC)
KYTC’s mission is toprovide a safe, efficient, environmentally sound and fiscally responsible transportation system that delivers economic opportunity and enhances the quality of life in Kentucky.
Kentucky Bike and Bikeways Commission (KBBC)
Represents the interests of bicyclists and pedestrians in advising the Secretary of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet in all matters pertaining to the use, extent, and location of bicycles and bikeways and promote the interests of bicycling public within the context of the total transportation system.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Bike Pedestrian Division
A large proponent of the Bike Walk Kentucky efforts, Kentucky Transportation’s Bike/Ped Division serves as a resource for developing master plans, state and federal assistance programs, multimodal tools, ADA compliance oversight and much more.
Kentucky Bicycle and Pedestrian Plans
Communities that develop and adopt bicycle and pedestrian plans embrace the industry. Through these master plans, they establish a framework needed to increase walking and biking infrastructure and to improve connectivity in their town and connecting towns.
