Bike Walk Kentucky Welcomes Amy Clevidence as First Contracted Program Manager

Bike Walk Kentucky is excited to announce the hiring of Amy Clevidence as its first contracted program manager, a milestone moment for the organization and a reflection of years of steady growth, collaboration, and volunteer-driven leadership.

Clevidence, who is based in Paducah, Kentucky, brings a strong background in creative project management, community engagement and strategic communication. She is the owner of The Thicket Studio, a business known for thoughtful design and storytelling rooted in place and purpose. Her professional experience, paired with a deep understanding of Kentucky communities, positions her as the perfect fit for Bike Walk Kentucky.

This historic hire is made possible through a strong partnership with the State Physical Activity and Nutrition Program (SPAN) and represents a new chapter for Bike Walk Kentucky. This addition strengthens Bike Walk Kentucky’s ability to coordinate statewide initiatives, deepen partnerships, and meet growing program demands.

“Bike Walk Kentucky has always been a board made up of community volunteers from across the state,” said Sharon Brown, vice president of Bike Walk Kentucky. “We take pride in the work we’ve done since Bike Walk Kentucky started, and having Amy on board will take us to the next level and open up more opportunities.”

Clevidence’s connection to biking and walking is both personal and practical. She credits biking with some of her earliest memories of independence and freedom, riding through her childhood neighborhood. Today, biking remains a shared activity with her family, offering a way to explore neighborhoods and regional trails together. “Access to safe movement should not be a privilege,” she said. “When infrastructure works for children, older adults and people with disabilities, it works better for everyone. It sends a message that every person belongs in public space.”

Through its partnership with SPAN, Bike Walk Kentucky is building momentum to promote safe and active living across the Commonwealth, combining data driven public health strategies with on the ground community connections to support bike and pedestrian plans and expand future programming.

Bike Walk Kentucky was founded to promote safe and accessible walking and bicycling throughout the Commonwealth. The organization works with communities to encourage active transportation, improve safety and create environments where people of all ages and abilities can move confidently and comfortably. For years, that work has been led entirely by volunteers. Bringing on a program manager allows Bike Walk Kentucky to deepen partnerships and respond more quickly to opportunities statewide.

As Bike Walk Kentucky looks ahead in 2026, Clevidence’s leadership signals readiness and momentum. With dedicated support now in place, the organization is prepared to turn vision into action and continue building a healthier Kentucky, one community at a time.
